Scott Luna

Scott’s practice focuses on real estate law with an emphasis on land title issues and mortgage document preparation. As former President of the Oklahoma Land Title Association, Scott stays current on the numerous changes in the title industry. He is also an active member of the Texas Land Title Association.

Scott’s  law practice includes high volume title document preparation and lender closing document and he regularly offers CE classes for closing and escrow officers. Both Scott and Rene’ Luna are graduates of Texas A&M. The couple has two sons.

Lance Luna

With 22 years of experience in the title industry, Lance is responsible for implementing corporate strategy while improving the organization’s operational efficiencies. Maintaining a firm understanding of the rules, regulations and compliance issues within a volatile real estate market is at the top of his agenda.

He is also a member of the Garland Chamber of Commerce and Texas Land Title Association. His career evolved from Residential Closer to managing multistate offices as a HUD contracted Closing Agent. As a result of his involvement in complex residential and commercial transactions, Excel Title has earned a national presence.

Lance is a Texas A&M graduate and along with his wife Jody and three children, he is a proud Aggie footfall fan and a sports enthusiast.

Carl Luna

Carl has expertise in a broad range of fields and serves a diverse group of clients. He works diligently to support clients in the multiple aspects of both residential and commercial real estate transactions.

He played football for the legendary Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant while earning his BBA at Texas A&M. Carl is active in the Letterman’s Association and he and his wife Sue have three children, Carla, Scott and Lance.

Sue Luna

Sue joined her husband Carl in 1994 as marketing director of Luna and Luna, their title operation in Garland and later opened their Rowlett location as office manager and Escrow Officer.  She had the opportunity to work with so many Realtors in the Rowlett and Rockwall areas, closing transactions for their buyers and sellers.  This experience carries over into our company now, as Sue consistently shares her knowledge with our staff who are servicing residential agents in today’s market.  While the industry may have changes, customer service at Excel remains a priority and Sue makes sure we are carrying out the legacy she and Carl built for our Realtor clients.

Sue earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas.  She enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.   Sue loves attending Texas A&M football games with Carl, tailgating and visiting with other former players and their families.  She and Carl are avid Maverick fans, attending every home game.  Sue is on the board of the Dallas Summer Musicals and a long time season ticket holder of the DSM.  She has a passion for helping students achieve their college dreams and carries this out through awarding scholarships in the arts from Dallas Summer Musicals as well as awarding the Carl Luna Legacy Scholarship to a student in the Garland ISD.

Jody Luna

Jody began her successful career in the real estate industry as a Realtor at age 24.  She enjoyed representing buyers and sellers in their transactions and acquired a vast understanding of the closing process from the vantage point of the real estate agent.  In 2015, she joined her husband at Excel as the Executive Vice President of Business Development, bringing new energy and fresh ideas to better serve our customers as well as enhancing the corporate culture of the company.  Her visionary leadership style for Excel involves growing the foundation of our company through employee engagement, our client base through relationships, while delivering five-star service to our customers and making meaningful contributions benefitting children in the communities we serve.

Jody holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Texas A&M Commerce.  She and Lance have been married over 18 years and have three wonderful children who keep them busy, Max, Honor and Ross.  Her hobbies include being a dedicated CrossFit Athlete, a runner and a passionate volunteer.

Tracy Fowler

Tracy Fowler

Tracy serves as Senior Vice President, Fee Attorney Operations at Excel Title Group where she oversees all digital information, software development, and computer systems for our direct and fee offices.  Additionally, she facilitates the training and implementation of software for all the Excel Offices and sister companies of Excel. Tracy also manages all the Fee Offices from onboarding to supervising their daily processes and procedures.  She has been with Excel Title Group since early 2012 and has over 27 years’ experience in the financial service and title and settlement service industries.  Prior to joining Excel, she operated Tri-Century Title in Ft. Worth where she was responsible for the supervision of all agency operations.  In the digital world we live and work in, our informational systems are what keep our operations flowing without fail and Tracy’s commitment to professional excellence blended with her confident ability to troubleshoot keep our operations in the “informational fast lane”.

Tracy and her husband enjoy spending time with family as often as possible.  She is also actively working to become fluent in Spanish.

Sally Jackson

Sally brings several years’ experience as a real estate agent to Excel Title, with her true gift being her love of people.  She is the smiling face you see when you enter our lobby and in addition plays a part in our policy department.   Sally has also done some marketing for our company as well as curative work.  As a former school teacher, she has a great eye for detail.

Sally has spent a great deal of her spare time on the golf course, even playing alongside such greats as Sandra Haynie and Sandra Palmer at one time.   She was also part of the Garland Bass Club and enjoyed fishing in tournaments in the area.

Tracy Curtis

Tracy joined the Excel Title Group team in June of 2017. She works with the fee offices, primarily with onboarding and daily communication regarding Excel policies & procedures. Before becoming an Excel team member, Tracy spent 25 years in the education field as a teacher and administrator. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Tracy is married to Justin, a teacher and football coach. They have one daughter, Caitlin. In her free time, Tracy enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports, and reading.

Sydna Holbert Peña

Sydna has been part of the Excel family for over 6 years and brings 15+ years’ experience in title insurance, which all began as a receptionist in 2001.  It is no surprise she was promoted in her very first month to escrow assistant.   She is a people person, fueled by the fast paced nature of title, the challenges each file can bring and has an exceptional eye for detail, all of which culminates to an outstanding closer.  Sydna enjoys people and building relationships with our realtors, lenders and their customers.   She has a vast knowledge in the services we provide, including residential, commercial, REO and foreclosed transactions.

Sydna enjoys spending time with her family outside of the office.  Her most enjoyable hobbies are gardening, scrapbooking and making art projects with her pre-school daughter.  She lives by the mantra of “Life is nothing without the love of your family”.

Urban Buentello

Urban began his career in the title industry in 1998, learning the basics of abstracting.  His knowledge expanded and he became responsible for quality control and training new staff members.  By the end of 2003, he was part of the team who set up Ameristar Title Company and for the next 5 years he examined residential and properties with acreage for Ameristar.  In 2007, he became the manager overseeing the Title Plant at Ameristar and leading his own team of staff members.  When the Luna family acquired Ameristar in 2010 and Excel was born, Urban joined the Excel team and has remained the manager of the Title Plant.

Outside of the office, Urban is involved with his son’s high school baseball team and has been a former baseball and soccer coach.  In his spare time, he enjoys exercising and running.

Patrick Leventhal

Patrick started in the title industry in 2002 with Ameristar Title, abstracting and examining uninsured property records and eventually was promoted to leading the department.  In 2007, he transitioned to the Title Insurance division for Ameristar.  In 2010, the Luna family acquired Ameristar and brought Patrick on board Excel where he remains a vital part of the Title Insurance division as Assistant Plant Manager.   Having been in the industry for over 15 years, Patrick would like our customers to know that we understand how daunting and frightening the real estate transaction can be and we are here to ease any burdens or worries they may have, in a timely, professional and courteous manner.

Patrick attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity.  He enjoys spending time outdoors either hiking, biking or golfing.  His favorite golf course is Edgewood Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe, California.  One day he hopes to golf on courses in Europe.
